InstaFriday: Desert Edition!

Good Evening Amigos!
That is what they say down in the Southwest.

Just kidding.
I made that up.

But in just a few hours I'm flying on Southwest.
To the Southwest.

Except, technically, it's more like flying South. And East.

But, you get the picture.

Off to Arizona for a weekend getaway with the sis.

We may or may not be drinking Pina Coladas, eating hot dogs, and floating in the pool.
It will be 110* after all.

And we may be eating the worlds best tortilla chips for dinner every night.

Yep. Just the tortilla chips.
We learned our lesson last year when we ended up taking our entire meals back to our room.
Because we had tortilla chips for dinner.

They are FLOUR tortilla chips. I can't even describe them.
I will try to bring back some pictures.

For now, I leave you with the earlier part of my week....

TJ's makes this Spinach Pie.
It's actually pretty good for you.
So I bought it a few months ago. And it sat in my freezer.
But I needed some dinner. And my brain is dreaming of the Mediterranean sea (T-Minus less than 1 month).
It sold me at Mediterranean Fare.
And it is actually REALLY good.

I invited this snugglebun over for a slumber party.
She gets really mellow when its just her and I.
Its like she can be herself.
She doesn't have to host or entertain anybody.
So she just lumps around a bit.
I think she is pretty dang cute.

The next morning, we picked up Margaret for a beach day.
Margaret went inside and ordered, while we sat outside.
Somebody, REALLY wanted a House Mocha of her own...

We finished our adventure with hot dogs and diet cokes.
Yellow mustard and onions.
Do it.
You're welcome.

I try REALLY hard not to be THAT person at Starbucks.
But....I am. But only on Sundays.
No excuse really.
As evidenced here.

Half the fun of prepping for vacay is shopping for new duds.
I have been contemplating getting a pair of Salties.
My mom used to get them for us when we were kids.
I had pink ones.
And then Nat the Fat Rat posted about them.
And I had to have RED.
Aren't they lovely?

On Tuesday, I really needed a butterscotch pop.
And iced chai.
I put out a twitter call.
Jamie and Ellen are rockstars, and responded within 30 minutes.
They have the spiritual gift of bringing people treats at work.
And yes, that is a dog treat container.
If it comes with scotch pops, I will roll with it.

And finally, Wednesday night.
CommUNITY groups.
The creativity was flowing.
I may have been cross-stitching in the "overflow room".
It actually helps me concentrate on the discussion.
But there was another cutie in the overflow room.
And so we started playing a bit.
And her artsy side started to come out.
I let her tattoo my feet.
With a ball point pen.
Weird?
Oddly fun?
Yes, and yes.

Don't worry, it came right off in the shower.

And, last thing...
be sure you

InstaFriday: Label Maker Edition

This week, I downloaded a new app...Pocket Labeler.

I kinda love it.
But I also learned, I should label, THEN insta. Otherwise, my pictures go from cute squares...
into cropped, and not as cute rectangles.

But, they still work.

And I think it spices up my Instas a bit.

I now present to you, some InstaSpiciness:

Friday night, I headed to AT&T Park with Betsy and pals...
Ellen brought Red Vines. #standardballparksnack
Cindy bought a Panda Hat.
Torres choked. A LOT. But I still danced to his at bat song.
And Jeremy Affeldt took the mound. I try to love him, but sometimes he makes it really hard.

Saturday, the fun continued, and Betsy invited Margaret and I to join her for Ride the Ducks.
We quacked our way through San Francisco.
Had a little lunch at In-n-Out
And hit up the Renegade Craft Fair. It ain't your grandma's craft fair.

Sunday I sported my new Ghana bag. LOVE the fun fabric.
And Jamie hooked a sister up with a Starbucks Venti cold cup, its the size of a Trenta.
 Serious monstrosity.

Monday morning, I took my parents to the airport.
I am there personal shuttle driver.
With a Schnoodle on board.

I also got a few new office supplies.
Happiness is the arrival of an Office Depot order.
Iced coffee is a perfect summer bev.
Starbucks seems to have realized this, and wants to capitalize on that market.

That afternoon, I ran a quick errand at Mollie Stones.
And the carousel that was there during my Starbucks run in the morning, had been replaced.
By Pumba?
Weird.

And, last night, Mylie had a MUCH needed bath. She is about halfway dry here.
So relieved.
And SO happy.
She goes from extremely sad in the water, to insanely happy when she is drying out.
She looks pretty scrappy.
But once dry, she fluffs right up.

Quite a week it has been!!!
Catch ya on the next one! :)

Caramel Macchiato, Where Have You Been My Whole Life?

Yes, I am a bit behind the times. I like songs after they have come and gone from the Billboard Top 100's. I also seem to jump on a lot of bandwagons, way after something becomes popular.

When it comes to the Caramel Macchiato, things are no different.

I have heard people ordering this drink for years. I could have sworn I had one a few years ago, and had a major dislike. Actually, I thought it was essentially a Caramel Mocha.

Apparently, I was wrong. Very wrong.

Essentially, the Caramel Machiatto is a glorified Caramel Latte. The secret to it's success is the delicious Caramel Drizzle, which you are sure to miss if you don't take the lid off your drink and eat the generous amount of leftover foam with a spoon.

Ladies and Gentlemen, a Tall Skinny Caramel Machiatto is a mere 105 calories. Yes, it's true.

It is my new crack cocaine.

Although, I'm sure after a few weeks of having this on repeat I'll be as sick of it as I am of Katy Perry's Firework.
