10 on 10: Ten Ordinary Moments on a Friday

10 ordinary moments
In one ordinary day.

Ten moments picked from one very long day.
A Friday.
Better than a Thursday.
Not quite as good as a Saturday.

Not exactly over 10 hours.
More like 18.
Buckle up, here we go...

Waking up and shredding.

And then really waking up, and praying.

The week's remnants.

These shoes are Fergalicious. For reals. That's their brand.

This girl. She had a rough week. I take her out on the front porch so we can sit under the lemon tree and relax.

Cupcaking. Sipping on a DC. And trudging through piles and piles of work stuff.

Finally, the weekend has arrived, and its time to downsize from purse to clutch.

I mean, this wall was begging to be a 10 on 10 backdrop.

Bread basket.  Garlic butter. Yep.

And ending the evening under these lights.

Ten ordinary moments, turned extraordinary.
Happy Friday, friends.

Mayday, Mayday: May has Begun

May is here.
At the time of this writing, we are only 5 days in.
And I'm already exhausted.

A 3 hour nap after church was for sure on the menu.
But I'm pretty sure I could have used a full 8.
Plus a good night's sleep.

It's been hot here.
I think that is the problem.
It makes me want to adventure.
And enjoy it.

And complain about sweating, a lot.
And that takes quite a bit of energy.

Here's what I've been up to...

Installing a replacement screen for my sliding door because of said heat.
It only took me three years since the last one broke.

Wogs through my neighborhood.
Smells like BBQ, Mexican food, spring flowers, and maple syrup.
Not sure about that last one.

Enjoying the sun going down over my back deck.
With flowers that match the sunlight.

Lunch time greetings by an uncertain bichon.
Yellow door and red brick makes me happy.

Sharing cool ranch Doritos under the lemon tree.
How happy are those hydrangeas?

Old friends who come to town.
And new friends, who like to hang out.
We ate Mediterranean food, and talked all things Med Sea.

 Interrupting these two's morning nap.
Pardon, moi.

Badass bike rides.
Chain grease everywhere.

One dollar cotton candy.
Yes, please.
Even though it's blue.

SF Giants biggest fans
Rolling in the orange and black.

I should have known when we took this great picture we were in for a great night.
Really, really great.

Like getting to see the trophies up close & personal.
They wouldn't let me touch it, rude.

But we did get a picture with BOTH.
Also, aren't my friends gorgeous?

Meeting blog friend's  (turned IRL friend) sister (turned IRL friend as well).
Like a crazy fan girl.
And looking like an ad for Comcast.

And, speaking of fan girl, lurking Amy G.
Although fan girl might be too strong of a word.

And praise the Lord, the fog has rolled back in. Here's to some cooler, calmer days. :)

PinterPuppy Kitchen

Let's talk.
Somebody had a birthday last week.
Her name is Mylie.
And she is the cutest 8 year old you'll ever meet.
At least, the cutest 8 year old on 4 legs you'll ever meet.

My cute blog friend April, blogged about some homemade dog treats she made for Mylie's blog-dog crush, Hewitt.
It doesn't get much easier than the recipe she used!
So, birthday girl Mylie was in for quite a treat.
Literally.

1/2 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
1/2 c. whole wheat flour
2 tbsp natural peanut butter.
(Mix, Roll, Cut, Bake on greased cookie sheet 400* 15-20 min)

I headed to the store, and stocked up on the purest form of these ingredients that I could.
I've never made anything for Mylie myself, so I wanted to take every precaution possible.
Just in case.
I want another 8 years with her.

See the labels?
Super simple ingredients.

Mylie is used to me being in the kitchen baking.
I have a galley kitchen, so she always plops herself right there at the doorway.
She had no idea what she was about to experience.

I mixed.

And stirred.

And rolled.
And cut.

And while I rolled and cut some more, I let Mylie do something all birthday girls should get to do.
Lick the bowl.
I think she wasn't so sure about it at first.
Like, is this a trick?
And then she went to town.
And gave me that look.
The "don't you dare touch this bowl" look.

And the next look was more like "is that it!?"

No Smiles, that isn't quite it.

So we baked for about 20 min.
(April's recipe calls for 15, but she suggests a few extra to crisp up the treats, we could have even baked a few more)

And how cute are they?
The heart shaped treats turned out the best.

And then I made her wait VERY, VERY patiently while we documented for the blog.
I mean, look at that expression.

And then it was go time.

I think it's pretty obvious she loved them.

I mean, she's a treats girl, for sure.
Perhaps even a connoisseur
Ever since the very first day.

Happy Birthday Miss Mylie, I love you.
