Life on the Daily.

Aside from yesterday's post, I haven't really posted in 2 weeks! The adventuring has been at a minimum, but don't worry. Summer Vacations are around the corner and there are gonna be some adventures to share. 

So for now, here is a bit of life on the reg:

A lot of front lawn time with Smiles. She loves it. I love it. The neighbors...well...

I graduated from the 30 Day Shred.

That is 30 days. In a row. The shred itself is fine. The hard part was the commitment, getting up early if I knew I wouldn't have time to shred later in the day. I've moved onto Ripped in 30. Jillian really is trying to ruin my life with that one. Thankfully, I'm not doing it every day. But then again, maybe I should be.

I also graduated the C25k program for the first time. I am a two time drop out over the last 3 years. And finally, FINALLY, I pushed through to the 8th week. I can run for 30 minutes non-stop. Which isn't exactly 3.1 miles (yet) but we're getting there. 

I don't exactly love it. And I hate it while doing it. But the smile below is brought to you by endorphins. Right?

There has been a good amount of healthy eating going on too. Results are minimal. (Because, you know, unhealthy eating sometimes creeps in).But really, summertime produce is the best.

Summertime also means long days. And heading downtown in the evenings means I'm usually greeted to views like this:

With warm days here, the pool in my building has been turned on. The kids usually claim it all weekend long. But I managed to sneak an hour in on a Sunday afternoon while things were quiet. There may have been two very olllld men there with me, but they didn't splash, so I was content. 

My mom ended her 35ish year career as an ICU nurse. Probably the most badass RN you'll meet. And to celebrate we took her on a family day to Sausalito. 

It was gorgeous at home and gorgeous there, but slightly foggy along the way. Just slightly.

There have been a couple new snuggle bugs introduced into my world lately.

And, well, the fun fact is I just blogged this whole thing from my phone! I'm gonna be so thrilled if this works. And so bummed if it doesn't.

And there ya have it, in between moments can be just as lovely as the adventurous ones.

 

Mayday, Mayday: May has Begun

May is here.
At the time of this writing, we are only 5 days in.
And I'm already exhausted.

A 3 hour nap after church was for sure on the menu.
But I'm pretty sure I could have used a full 8.
Plus a good night's sleep.

It's been hot here.
I think that is the problem.
It makes me want to adventure.
And enjoy it.

And complain about sweating, a lot.
And that takes quite a bit of energy.


Here's what I've been up to...


Installing a replacement screen for my sliding door because of said heat.
It only took me three years since the last one broke.

Wogs through my neighborhood.
Smells like BBQ, Mexican food, spring flowers, and maple syrup.
Not sure about that last one.

Enjoying the sun going down over my back deck.
With flowers that match the sunlight.

Lunch time greetings by an uncertain bichon.
Yellow door and red brick makes me happy.

Sharing cool ranch Doritos under the lemon tree.
How happy are those hydrangeas?

Old friends who come to town.
And new friends, who like to hang out.
We ate Mediterranean food, and talked all things Med Sea.

 Interrupting these two's morning nap.
Pardon, moi.

I should have known when we took this great picture we were in for a great night.
Really, really great.

Like getting to see the trophies up close & personal.
They wouldn't let me touch it, rude.

But we did get a picture with BOTH.
Also, aren't my friends gorgeous?

Like a crazy fan girl.

And, speaking of fan girl, lurking Amy G.

Although fan girl might be too strong of a word. 

And praise the Lord, the fog has rolled back in. Here's to some cooler, calmer days. :)

Today I...

...started my day with a good reminder...

...didn't match...

...drank my work coffee in a happy mug...

 ...received a fun package...

...felt nostalgic when I passed this sign...

 ...lunched with the most adorable little mermaid...

 ...opened my sunroof...

 ...took a moment to treasure my elephant collection from friends around the world...

 ...caught the sunset on my balcony...

& finished the day with a diet cherry coke. 

Not bad for a regular old Wednesday.

I'm Thankful For...The In Between Moments

A lot of this little blog chronicles all the things I get to go, see, and do.

And those things are wonderful. I often find myself anxiously awaiting the next adventure.

But, there is also so much adventure to be found in the in between. 

This girl is simple. 

She loves a day at the beach, but she also loves treats in the kitchen.

She loves 12pm every day when I show up to hang out with feed her. 

This pup has had some health issues lately. 

A few scary seizures that came out of nowhere.

Sweet Ashy was so concerned about Chloe.

It was precious to see her gentleness shine through as she cared for Chloe.

 And then there's these people.

Who love Christ in word and in deed.

Truly living out "a heart of love and a life of service". 

Joyfully. 

Even in something as simple as filling mugs with candy. 

And eggs, so many eggs.

The happiest note from a friend. 

Sunshiney Sundays on the lawn. 

Catching beauty in the place that I live.

And you know, just having fun for the sake of having fun.

Looking over all of this, I know God has given me much. 

Mostly, and most importantly, he has given me His Son.

All of these wonderful things pale in comparison to the redemption and grace I experience in Him every day.

I know that these things are temporal, and anxiously await the day of being with Him for eternity.

Where the adventures and joys will be far greater than I could even imagine.

I can't wait.
