Weekendlies: Super Cute Edition.

Just 9 highlights from the latest weekending...it was full of a lot of cuteness.

1. Someone has a LOT to be thankful for. Mostly the giant box of toys she has spread around the living room.
2. A foggy fall morning walk along the bay. It's good for the paws. And the soul.
3. Running into Aunt Laura is a treat for both of us.
4. The fog has cleared and my mom and I went on a stroll.
5. To see the cutest little monkey & his mama.
6. The Second Saturday of every month we go to McDonalds & the Dollar Tree. Any variation would cause a riot.
7. Just a big pile of curls watching Horseland.
8. Our prayers for a 49er victory were answered.
9. We both agree, Sunday naps on the new bedding are divine.

The Weekendlies: Happy Fall, Y'all

Lately I have kinda skimped on the blog posts.
Summer has turned to fall. This weekend. Officially. And otherwise.
Friday night, My sister had a fun little dinner to kick it off. I brought the ever elusive Macaron Prosecco, macarons (both birthday gifts from Ellen), pumpkin ale, and three fallen leaves.

My sis made beef burginon and Sprinkles cupcakes. I want to go to a fall party every weekend.
She also gifted me with pumpkin spice scone mix and the cutest hedgehog measuring cups. Nothing says fall like spending Saturday mornings baking.
After the scones, Mylie and I got a walk in as a storm started to brew. We made it home just as heavy raindrops began to plop on our heads. I reheated my coffee and we sat under the cover of the front porch and enjoyed the first rain of the season.

And there was a girls night to the city to see Ben Rector & Tyrone Wells. At the Fillmore. And of course a little dinner and drinks around the corner before the show.

The Fillmore is quite possibly my favorite San Francisco venue. Mostly because there is so much history there.
Both my parents grew up locally. I love thinking about the bands they saw there. (Or at the Fillmore West which was more their era).
Their equivalent of my Needtobreathe, Mat Kearney, Ben Rector.
I loved exploring the poster wall imagining which ones they were at.
Which, according to my dad was Santana, Paul Butterfield, It's a Beautiful Day,Quicksilver, Jefferson Airplane and more he can't remember.

This week I have been staying at my parents while they explore New England in the fall. Trying hard not to be jealous.
But in the mean time, Smiles and I are enjoying some gorgeous sunrises and walks with a view.

Sunday afternoon involved quite a few snuggles with this little miss. I really like her. I am hoping its mutual.
Smiles and I rounded off the weekend with another afternoon walk. The views aren't too shabby either.

And now the weekend is over, and fall has officially begun.

Happy Fall, Y'all.

Showers of Joy

I'm kiiiiiinda excited for the end of summer. And I'll tell you why. One of my most favorite mamas is expecting her third little girl. It's no secret that girl 1 and girl 2 have a special place in my heart. And I'm preeeetty sure girl 3 is gonna join the ranks.

It was due time for Mama-of-three-to-be, Jessica to be showered with love and honored by some of her lovely friends, so Katy and Julie and I got together to spend an evening doing just that.

An evening shower, full of pinwheels and whimsy...

Sweet treats...

And light bites.

Hosting a shower with Julie and Katy was a dream. These girls have talent and creativity coming out their glue gun burned fingertips.

All the gorgeous touches, small and big were Julie and Katy's masterpieces - invitations, buntings, and pinwheels galore. They had a vision and brought it to life.

I brought Brie, artichoke dip, and Grand Marnier cupcakes.  Oh, and Lemon Bar Puppy Chow.

Jessica, I hope you felt honored and cherished, and sweet Holland Joy comes into the world knowing how loved she is by all of these ladies in your life.

It's no secret that you care and provide for your friends, family and those around you (nonstop!), I hope  that you felt even just a bit of that same care here. We love you and, I can't wait to squeeze Miss H.

And if she chooses to arrive on my birthday, that wouldn't be too shabby either. (Please speak with her about that).

Love you, friend.

Baby Love.

So...
Long time, no blog.
Like REALLLLY long time.
But I'm here.
I've been gone.
But I'm here again.
With a few fun tales to tell.

Starting with this one.

The BFF had her baby.
And he is the sweetest thing since sliced bread pie.
He's a happy little fellow.

A gentleman, really.
A few tickles on his ears and he will give you his best smile.
But really, he is just pleasant as pie any time he is being held.

He is also a rockstar at tummy time.

And Mama Julie, she is awesome.

I think that was my favorite part of the weekend.
Seeing my twenty-plus year friend in a whole new role.
And being amazing at it.

And dad is incredible too.

I think baby lucked out with the best mommy and daddy in the world.

Julie & Dave were the hosts with the mosts.
Well, except for doors, they didn't have those.
(but hey, who needs doors....right? privacy is overrated)

Between naps and feedings, for all of us,
we hit the town.
The three girls and little man.

One of us is not a fan of carseats.
I know little guy, I know.

But we made it safely.
And there was plenty of produce and delicious foods to go around.
Also, I have said it once, and I'll say it again, I LOVE farmers markets.
(warning: farmers market photo bomb coming....now)

Those last ones are watermelon radishes.
SO COOL.

This farmer's market was one of the best I have been to.
Huge variety of common and uncommon fruits and veggies.
If I lived there, I'd go every weekend.

Baby took a nap and we got some good friendsie times in.
Shopping and Shave Ice.

While daddy built and decorated the crib.
I mean, how cute, right?
(Julie and I played hundreds of hours of Mario Brothers as kids.)

And we ended the night in style.
Kale Chips & Emma.
Nothing says you've grown up than leafy greens and the grown up version of Clueless.
If our 14 year old selves could see us now.
We were pretty nerdy.
So we'd probably be proud.

And this guy, well, I took home his smile in my heart.
Like a little souvenir.

And these girls,
well,
we keep making new memories,
as the years go by.
And we let a little one into our fold.
He's alright.

Thanks again to our incredible hosts with the mosts, and no doors.
(like literally, not one single door, but it's cool, "open concept" has new meaning)
Can't wait to visit you guys, and your new doors, again soon.

And to this little guy, rest up, your Auntie wants to adventure with you again.
