It was magical.
I don't know why, but I had low expectations for France.
This day exceeded them, exponentially.
It was by far one of my favorites, even though we were only there for a few very short hours.
I think you'll see why.
We were on a short half day tour of Aix, I ditched it 10 minutes in, in favor of exploring on my own.
So totally worth it.
Also, I took a lot of pictures of food.
But, when in France...
I have a weakness for open air markets.
They make me so happy.
They make my camera so happy.
I think it should be noted that all of these pictures are straight out of my camera.
That chocolate eclair was the best pastry I have ever had.
I had French macarons in France.
I sat by that fountain and people watched for a half hour in the sunshine.
It was a really, really good day.
dang. I wanna go. mainly for the food : )
ReplyDeleteI, too, have a love of open air markets. And, pastries. ;)
ReplyDeletethis looks dreamy, absolutely dreamy! I think you got lucky by going to this little town, Paris was not my favorite.
ReplyDeleteThose little macaroons look amazing.
ReplyDeleteso lovely.
ReplyDeleteSo your expectations were far exceeded. Does that mean you'll go back? I think I'd go just for the food. How were the macaroons? I had one for the first time this past summer and I have to say I didn't love them. Are they better in France? I bet everything's better in France.
ReplyDeleteyour photos are cheerful. i love to people watch. i'm so curious about each one's story, amazed that God personally knows and loves each one.
ReplyDeletei remember the best eclair i ever ate. it was fall of 1997, i was prego with noah. it wasn't france, it was modesto. still it was an unforgettable eclair.
pretzels. yum.
ReplyDeletei need to go to france.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing better than time spent in an open air market in France.
ReplyDeleteNothing.
What absolutely beautiful pictures, Kim!
I will dream about this place and those foods in my sleep tonight
ReplyDeleteAix. MY FAVORITE. Remind me to show you my pics tonight. Kayla will. Before you walk in the door.
ReplyDeleteFine. Maybe I don't hate the French.
ReplyDeleteIf they feed me.
And aren't all aloof.
Mostly the feeding.

I'm very glad you prefaced this by explaining that you didn't get a custom gown from Lady Petswah Jiu Jiu, because that's all I could think about when I saw the title of this post.
ReplyDeleteJealously prevents me from commenting on anything else in this post.
